Any injury to your skull, scalp, or brain is considered a head injury. From a minor bump or bruise to a severe brain injury, this can happen. Brain injuries, skull fractures, and wounds to the scalp are typical head wounds. Depending on the nature of your head injury and its severity, there are a variety of outcomes and treatments. There are two types of head wounds: closed and open. Any head injury that does not break the skull is referred to as a closed head injury. When something penetrates your skull and scalp, causing an open (penetrating) head injury, it enters your brain.
It might be challenging to determine the severity of a head injury simply by looking at it. Some small head injuries have a lot of bleeding, but some large head injuries have no bleeding at all.
